Odoo pricing is published openly on Odoo’s own site, and the headline number is simple: one price per user that covers every app. What the headline doesn’t show is which plan you will actually end up on, who counts as a paying user, and which costs sit outside the subscription altogether.

This guide walks through Odoo’s three plans as listed on odoo.com/pricing on October 1, 2026 (US prices), the difference between Odoo Community and Enterprise, and what to budget for beyond the license. If you are still deciding whether Odoo is the right system, start with what Odoo ERP is and how it works.

Odoo Pricing 2026 at a Glance

  1. Three plans. One App Free ($0), Standard and Custom, each priced per user per month and covering every app you are entitled to.
  2. The low price is a first-year price. Standard is $24.90 and Custom $49.00 per user per month billed yearly for the first 12 months; the listed prices after that are $31.10 and $61.00.
  3. Custom is triggered by what you use. Studio, multiple companies, custom modules or the external API put you on Custom.
  4. Portal users are free. Customers, suppliers and website visitors don’t count as paying users; anyone working in the Odoo back end does.
  5. Implementation is extra. The subscription includes hosting on Odoo Online, support and upgrades, but not implementation, Odoo.sh hosting or custom-code maintenance.

Odoo Community vs Enterprise

Odoo comes in two editions. Odoo Community is open source: you can download it and run it on your own servers with no license fee, but you host, support and upgrade it yourself, and some apps are only in Enterprise. Odoo Enterprise is the licensed edition sold through the Standard and Custom plans, and it adds Odoo’s hosting, unlimited functional support and version upgrades.

Community is the core Enterprise is built on, so the choice isn’t permanent: Odoo says you can switch at any time. In practice, the license fee is rarely the deciding cost. Hosting, upgrades and support are what Community leaves to you.

Source: odoo.com/pricing, October 1, 2026. Odoo notes that the first-year discount applies for 12 months to the users in your first order, and that Odoo.sh hosting is billed separately.

Budget on the renewal price, not the first-year price. The discount covers your first 12 months and your first users; year two, and anyone you add later, is billed at the listed price.

Who Counts as a Paying User

Because Odoo charges per user, the user count drives the bill. Odoo’s definition is broader than many buyers expect:

  • Paying users are anyone who uses the Odoo back end to create, view or edit records, including an employee who only submits expenses or timesheets and an outside accountant working in your books.
  • Employee records without a linked user count as paying users too.
  • Free users are customers and suppliers using the portal to see invoices, and website visitors placing orders and tracking deliveries.
  • Light Users, listed at $8.90, cover employee-only roles such as time off, expenses, attendance, the point of sale or the manufacturing shop floor. Odoo arranges them through an advisor.

Count your users from that definition before comparing quotes. It is the single biggest variable in an Odoo subscription.

When You Need the Custom Plan

Standard covers every app on Odoo Online. You move to Custom when you need to change how Odoo works rather than just use it:

  • Odoo Studio or agentic AI to add fields, screens and automations without code.
  • More than one company in the same database.
  • Custom modules, which need Odoo.sh or your own servers, because Odoo Online doesn’t host custom code.
  • The external API, when outside software such as a legacy system or reporting tool calls Odoo. Odoo’s own connections to payment providers, carriers and bank feeds don’t count and work on Standard.

Odoo switches you automatically: installing Studio or adding a company moves the database to Custom. If you plan to deploy custom code, our guide to Odoo.sh setup and deployment covers how that hosting works.

What the Subscription Includes, and What Costs Extra

According to Odoo’s pricing FAQ, every paid plan includes hosting on Odoo Online (with storage up to 100 GB), daily backups on two continents, email integration, security monitoring, email support Monday to Friday, eLearning and version upgrades. What it doesn’t include:

  • Hosting on Odoo.sh for custom developments.
  • Implementation and expert services: project management, requirements analysis, data import, configuration and training.
  • In-app purchase credits for SMS, contact autocomplete, lead generation and AI scanning of bills and expenses.
  • Maintenance of custom code, which stays with whoever wrote it.

Implementation is usually the largest of these, and it depends far more on your processes than on your user count: how many apps you roll out, how much data you migrate and from where, how many integrations you need, and whether you configure standard features or build custom ones. A migration from QuickBooks with years of history is a different project from a fresh start.

How to Estimate Your Odoo Cost

  1. Count paying users. Use Odoo’s definition: everyone in the back end, plus employee records without a user. Leave out portal customers and suppliers.
  2. Pick the plan from what you need. Standard, unless you need Studio, several companies, custom modules or the external API.
  3. Choose hosting. Odoo Online is included. Odoo.sh or your own servers are only options on Custom, and Odoo.sh is billed separately.
  4. Use the renewal price for year two. The first-year discount ends after 12 months and doesn’t cover users added later.
  5. Scope the implementation separately. List the apps, data sources, integrations and customizations, and get that estimated on its own.

Ways to Keep Odoo Costs Down

  • Start with One App Free to prove one process before paying for every user.
  • Pay yearly. At Odoo’s listed renewal prices, yearly billing is about 20% less than monthly for both Standard and Custom.
  • Configure before you customize. Every custom module is code to host on Odoo.sh and maintain through upgrades; standard features are upgraded for you.
  • Clean your data before migrating. Duplicate and inconsistent records slow every import and every check after it.
  • Roll out in phases. Start with the apps that matter most, so users and costs grow together.
  • Train a few internal champions who can support colleagues after go-live.

Odoo Pricing 2026: FAQ

Is Odoo free?

Two ways, yes. Odoo Community is open-source software you can download and host yourself at no license cost. And the One App Free plan on Odoo Online gives you one app, plus any apps it depends on, for unlimited users, at no charge. Everything else (all apps, Odoo’s hosting, support and upgrades) is part of a paid Standard or Custom subscription.

How much is Odoo Standard in 2026?

As of October 1, 2026, Odoo lists Standard at $24.90 per user per month billed yearly, or $31.10 billed monthly, for the first 12 months for the users in your first order. After that the listed prices are $31.10 (yearly) and $38.90 (monthly). These are US prices from odoo.com/pricing.

What is the difference between the Standard and Custom plans?

Both include all apps. Custom adds Odoo Studio, agentic AI, multiple companies in one database, custom modules and the external API, and lets you host on Odoo.sh or on your own servers instead of only Odoo Online. Installing Studio or adding a second company moves you to Custom automatically.

Who counts as a paying user?

Anyone who uses the Odoo back end to create, view or edit records, and any employee record without a linked user. Customers and suppliers using the portal, and website visitors placing orders, are free. Some employee-only roles can be licensed as Light Users, listed at $8.90, through an Odoo advisor.

What is not included in an Odoo subscription?

Odoo lists four things: hosting on Odoo.sh for custom developments, implementation and expert services, in-app purchase credits (SMS, lead generation and similar), and maintenance of custom code. Hosting on Odoo Online, backups, support by email and version upgrades are included.

Can I switch from Community to Enterprise, or from Odoo Online to my own servers?

Yes. Odoo Community is the core Odoo Enterprise is built on, and Odoo says you can switch versions at any time. Odoo Online and Odoo Enterprise on-premise or on Odoo.sh are the same software with different hosting, and you can download a backup of an Odoo Online database whenever you like.
